Our weekend was like a line out of a jack’s mannequin song, and it was wonderful. Liz, Tia, Jenny, and myself spent the day in Venice taking photos and soaking in our eclectic surroundings. Venice beach is certainly a place where people are free to be the truest versions of themselves. Musicians, artists, chefs, and even choirs congregate to display their talents to the masses–and we are so thankful. We even met a local artist named Andy who already loves TOMS! Another group of Vagabonds (Justin, Derek, Carolyn and of course, Team SE member- Carmin) took a trip the Getty Museum. According to our beloved “art buffs,” the gardens, photography and jaw-dropping paintings were well worth the drive. Carmin swears she loved every minute of her museum experience, but admits the highlight of the trip came when Carolyn helped her tap into her inner-artist in the Getty drawing room. This weekend served as the perfect ending to a busy and exciting week. We all took part in this season’s TOMS Sample Sale, and it was great to bear witness to the masses coming out in support of what we do to purchase a pair of shoes. Folks came from near and far, and in both rain and shine–and I believe that speaks boldly about the TOMS community as a whole. We are different, perhaps in the best way, and I think that is why we love what we do. Fueled by all of this passion from the community, we are more eager than ever to hit the road. In exactly two weeks all 14 of us will load into our respective Vaga-Vans and head to your colleges, schools, local coffee shops, music venues, and even your homes. I can confidently speak for each of us when I say that we are absolutely seething with anticipation and excitement.

As vagabonds, we met someone pretty important last week. He was asked “were they what you expected?” loosely paraphrased, he replied “no, they were more passionate than I ever imagined.”
