TOMS in the palace

July 15th, 2009 by admin

TOMS have traveled all over the world and we love to see your photos from around the States, on mountain summits, and at your Prom. We also love the amazing stories that come along with the pics.

So how did this pair of black TOMS make it all the way to the Queen’s palace in London?

Fox, the gentleman in these photos, recently received a humanity award from the Queen of England for his work with the Jost van Dykes Preservation Society and efforts to preserve the environment and local culture in Puerto Rico. His wife Tessa knew that although Foxy preferred to spend his days barefoot, he would definitely need the perfect pair of shoes for this special occasion. Enter TOMS.

“Fox typically wears NO Shoes and is always uncomfortable in them so we had a problem finding something to go with the robes we ordered from Africa for the presentation at Buckingham Palace, ” says Tessa.  “As his “Dresser” I was looking for something simple and plain and comfortable… and they looked as if they would be comfortable and simple for his big feet!”

Where do your TOMS take you?

I would be happy to take some to Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam with my two preschoolers and I! :)

As like many people, I first caught wind of Toms Shoes from the ATT ads. Being a shoe fanatic myself, I thought the idea was brilliant and tremendously inspiring. I started sharing links to your site with all my friends and spent nights thinking of how I could help. I recently got a new job and I think I might be in the position to help now. Tom, if this message makes its way to you, I’d love to get 5 minutes of your time or even an email exchange. Best wishes to you and your entire team.

Sorry, Blake. If there’s a Tom, I’ll talk to him, too! :)
