What a wonderful week it has been. When we saw that we would be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for a couple of weeks we definitely planned to spend some time with previous MW/TX Vagabond, Kelsey Brandon who graciously took us in for the past few nights! (We LOVE you Kelsey!) Our timing couldn’t have been any better because Laura who was Kelsey’s team mate last tour also was up in the Dallas area. We all got together on Sunday and if you didn’t know, these girls really LOVE cake and we do too! So we hit up Sprinkles Cupcakes..oh yeah..that’s what I’m talkin bout! It was soooo good! I recommend the Red Velvet or Brown Sugar Praline!

After our cupcake fix we made plans to spend time with Blake’s parents Pam and Mike Mycoskie. The girls didn’t have a chance to meet up with them last tour so it was the perfect opportunity for us to unite with them! Can we talk about how adorable/amazing the Mycoskie’s are!?!

Since Easter is coming up, Pam surprised us with these fab Easter baskets! It included all kinds of goodies! Special thanks to Pam and Mike for making us feel very special! We love you both and are very grateful for all your support and kindness.

I don’t know if you all know how much the Vagabonds love frozen yogurt. During our time in Santa Monica we tried to have fro yo as often as we could. Tia and I heard about a few places but we didn’t know Carrollton, TX would have a Yogurtland!!! Yes that is right, and we have gone at least four times already. We can’t get enough. This is what a cup of yummy yogurt looks like before it disappears in my belly!

We have a few more events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area including an awesome Style Your Sole event coming up this Saturday at a TOMS retailer called WIIFY Unique and Casual if you are in the Flower Mound area, stop by and hang with us! The event is from 1pm-4pm. It should be lots of fun! Cheers and much love!

Hurray! Tia and I have made it back to her home town of Waco. For this week, I must share with you a moment that meant a great deal to me. You see, when I became passionate about TOMS shoes, I never thought it would lead me to doing the shim-sham with my niece Zaynah and my grandfather in our week three YouTube video. I had tears of joy while watching it for the first time. When I talked to my father about the video, he brought an interesting point to my attention.

My father was saying how amazing this video is because here is three generations of people having a good time and supporting TOMS. My tears of joy also reflected on how special this moment was with my grandfather. He is the only living grandparent I have left and he came all the way from Iran to attend my college graduation. Unfortunately he left back for Iran on Thursday. I’m sad because I don’t know when will be the next time that i will see him again. I learned before I started my Vagabond journey that I am the only member of our family that he got to see walk the stage. My father came to this country with a student visa and at the time, my grandfather didn’t have his papers together for a green card or visa to attend his graduation.

I am so happy that I got to spend a little bit of time with my family while i was in San Antonio. They are very important to me and I value each and every moment I have with them. Best part of all was my nieces reaction when she saw our vaga-van for the first time! Check out our week three video to get the full effect of what I’m talking about. I have to say, what I do as a Vagabond is a reflection of what my seven year old niece inspires me to do for the children who are in need of our amazing shoes! I’m glad she got to get a peek of my Vagabond experience because one day she too can make an attempt to be the change!

Now I get to go play with Tia’s awesome pug Gus-Gus! Yeah he pretty much rocks! That’s all for now.

Hello out there on the World Wide Web! Hajar and I have been working hard, and are ready to get on the road and meet all of you! We’ve been here for a few weeks now, learning more about TOMS and soaking up the California rays before we head back to the Midwest.

Our group is a little different than the others you’ll be reading about. While this whole experience has already been an adventure for every one of us, we get a little special “spice,” if you will, added to our story. Every other team has a third member, and we only have two. But last week we learned that we will have a WILDCARD! We will be a team of three soon. We’ll let you in on more as we find out. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

So in Texas, we have a lot of what we would call “Tex Mex” always available to us. There’s Taco Bell, Taco Bueno, Taco Cabana, and numerous other taco stands and restaurants. But never have we heard of a “Del Taco.” And even with an over abundance of tacos, there is nothing like what Del Taco has to offer. On Tuesday nights, they have three tacos for $1.09. So what better chance than this, when not much is at stake to dive in and try something new. And through this, we’ve found our new Tuesday tradition with the entire Vagabond family.

Now we have some planning to get to! But stay tuned. I promise to always keep you entertained!
