The rides our daredevil team faced to take Tour Launch to a whole new level…literally.


Team Norheast took Tour “Launch” maybe a bit too seriously. As soon as we rolled out of the office, we headed off to Vegas! We stayed with my grandparents there, but before we could sleep, we felt the need to launch 1300 feet into the air. We rode three rides on top of the Stratosphere which is a casino in the structure of a space needle. It is the home to the world’s highest thrill rides and we rode them. All three of them. We plunged to the ground, we shot in the air, and we spun around till we were dizzy on the rides which were suspended over a thousand feet in the air, dangling off the side of this building. Talk about a serious launch! Here on Team Northeast, we don’t mess around!

And this is Zabuuma, our ecclectic new teammate. Caitlin brought him along on the trip because she saw in Zabuuma what no one else could….a companion. Make sure you keep an eye out for him in our Youtube videos, he’ll be bringing words of wisdom, fun times, and jokes that you won’t believe. He is a great asset to our team and I’m not sure we could’ve made it all the way out here to Caitlin’s grandma’s house in Iowa without him! Zabuuma is our heart and sole.

Already? We knew their planning time here at the HQ was going fly by… but now they’ve really driven away. Gone for an unpredictable 10 weeks of event-hosting, shoe-selling, couch-sleeping, and memory-making. When I tell you they are an eclectic, motivated, passionate, spunky, intelligent group of young people, I’m not doing them justice. My excitement for this Vagabond Tour is overflowing to the point that its becoming increasingly difficult to keep some things a secret. All I can say is- we’re taking this tour up a notch, and we can’t wait to watch this story unfold with you.

Today, we hit the road on our tour of the Southwest and we couldn’t be more stoked. Last week was absolutely nuts – preparing for a three month tour in a van is not an easy thing. We organized and packed inventory (and trust me when I tell you that packing a 15-passenger van is a lot harder than a game of Tetris), put together art supplies, and – of course – continued booking our tour! We definitely learned what shuffling around boxes in a van is really going to be like for the next twelve weeks. Friday, the Vagabonds attended the Falling Whistles Fashion Show in downtown Los Angeles. We were very excited to support an organization that helps raise awareness and bring an end to child soldiers in DR Congo. Falling Whistles is nothing but supportive of TOMS and we’re looking forward to returning the love!

Kelli, Blair and I were so sad to say goodbye to our fellow Vagabonds this morning… but we definitely made this past weekend one of the best! We had a farewell breakfast Saturday morning before loading boxes into our respective vans and this morning, the TOMS staff and the Vagabonds had their very own Style Your Sole event as part of our tour launch party.

We can’t believe that we’re already on the road – but we couldn’t be happier to come to a city near you to spread the TOMS love! Get excited!
