Hmmm… That picture looks familiar. Oh, it should. It was on our blog just a few short weeks ago. Minus the super cool guy in the dolphin shirt (well, you can’t see the dolphin shirt, but trust me, he’s wearing it). So. Let’s recap the last week or so. We left Portland, filled with sadness, only to stumble upon Moscow, ID (pronounced Mos-Koe. Don’t mess up and call it Mos-cow, or you might catch a slap from one of the locals. Despite a shared affinity for potatoes, they don’t like to be confused with the Russians). Anyway, we were welcomed into Moscow with a wonderful home cooked dinner, followed by a home cooked breakfast the next morning, thanks to our RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING campus rep, Niki. We also discovered a bagel shop that has a bagel named the Mustache Ride.

This is it. Oh yeah. It was delicious.

After Moscow, we were planning to go to Wenatchee and then head to Bellingham, WA. However, in the span of about 30 minutes both of those events happened to fall through, leaving us a weekend with nothing to do, and nowhere to go. Hence the repeat of the picture above. We went back to hang out with our friend and campus rep extraordinaire, Mango, in Seattle! Though we only had a brief weekend there, it was packed with good times. We got to tell people about TOMS at a great concert featuring Ten out of Tenn (look ‘em up, they’re great!) and see former Vagabond Tim who is their tour manager. After that we got to see one of the coolest people alive, our old boss, Mikey P. I bum rushed him in Barnes & Noble and despite a series of violent rabbit punches and karate kicks from him, I escaped the encounter unscathed, and we were able to spend a few fun hours with him downtown, and then he and I got to cuddle up on the floor in Mango’s basement that night. Good times. So now we’re in Walla Walla, Washington where we just left the Walla Walla Wallamart, and we’re about to head to our event tonight at Walla Walla Wallaversity for some Walla Walla fun times. Then it’s off to Colorado! Peace out!

Mikey’s special extra layers cuddle outfit

Our new friends in Moscow. And yes, those are jazz hands.

I think this picture speaks for itself.

1 week down, 11 to go! Our first week was amazing! This week contained waaaaay too much awesomeness to fit in a blog. I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s see if I can sum up the week. 2 events at the University of Washington. Both of which were fantastic thanks to the hard work and overall awesomeness of Mango, our campus rep! We had an event at Seattle Pacific University that was super fun with great music. Thanks, Natalie! And then we hooked up with online blog, Majority Mag, for a Sole Music party at Forza Coffee in Tacoma, thanks to Joe Hunich. Joe also… HOLY HOLE IN A DONUT! IT’S SNOWING!!!! RIGHT NOW! WHILE I TYPE THIS!

A.MAZ.ING!

ok back to the blog. What else happened this week? Oh yeah! Carolyn likes to make things. Apparently to make things she really wanted a knife for cutting things out. Why not scissors, you ask? so did Ana and I. Wouldn’t scissors be more practical than a knife? We asked that, too. We’ve yet to receive a satisfactory answer. Well, anyway. Carolyn got her knife! she’s loving it. Try not to judge.

We went to Mt. Rainier. We got about 3/4ths the way there only to find out that the road was seasonally closed. Luckily closed roads don’t stop Team Ndubs! We got there. See!

Don’t ask questions about how we got there

After seeing the mountain, we were starving, and so we stopped at a railroad car that had been turned into a restaurant. Pretty cool, huh? NO. NO. NO. Not cool at all. A chicken salad at this place was 18.99! Which was more expensive than the ribs! Also, it really seemed like we were in a horror movie. The railroad car was kinda in the middle of nowhere… woods all around… we were the only ones there. Our waitress didn’t seem fond of us, and she looked at us with a strange hunger in her eyes. We were lucky to make it out alive. Thank goodness Carolyn had that knife.

Site of almost our last meal… phew!

So, anyway we’re on the road and headed to San Francisco for the week. See you soon!

WE’RE IN SEATTLE!!!! Oh what a night… and day.

We rolled out of the TOMS parking lot Monday at about 12:40, and immediately stopped since our gas gauge was sitting about a foot below the red, and the gas light had been on for 2 days. From there we made it roughly another 6 and a half minutes before stopping for one last visit at Yogurtland. It was delicious and wonderful. After one last stop in Santa Barbara for Ana to drop off some clothes we hit the open road! Within an hour Carolyn was sleeping in the back, Ana was sleeping in the passenger seat and I was sleeping err watching the road alertly in the driver’s seat. We made plans to stop in San Francisco for a late dinner, but then we faced a life-altering decision. Do we drive on to San Fran and eat at a one-of-a-kind restaurant or do we eat at the KFC/A&W across the street from the gas station in the middle of nowhere? It really wasn’t that hard of a decision. We chose KFC/A&W. I mean, root beer on tap… how you gonna pass that up? After a rejuvenating meal of fried chicken, hamburgers, and cheese curds we hit the road again. We saw snow! We saw rain. Mostly rain. And then before we knew it we were in Seattle. So now we’re sitting in Local Color Cafe at Pike Place, and I’m writing this. I tried to do this in the car, but it turned out a little something like this: adglihaf[pbionvj;lnaegilh;akldfn... First event is at University of Washington tomorrow! Woot Woot!
