As much as I’d like to tell you I regularly hang out with Snoop Dogg at the NYSE, there’s actually an interesting story behind why we were both there. The two of us were participating in the second annual Mentoring Madness event along with Stephen Hanson, Founder and President of BR Guest Restaurants, and Barry Sternlicht, Chariman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group. We got to share our perspective on business and entrepreneurship to young people who will be the next generation of leaders. mtvU got involved with their Movers & Changers competition too, which you can learn more about on their website.

Also got a chance to catch up with John Whitledge, a good buddy of mine and founder of Trovata, for the Vogue CFDA Awards. Don’t we look like a couple of brothers who should be at the Family Reunion we hosted a few months ago for Vogue’s Fashion Night Out?

His place is sooo nice and so is he and his room mate! We watched the Davidson vs. Oklahoma basketball game with them tonight. They were rooting for Davidson, but they lost.

But believe me when I say I am resting up! The past few days have been pretty hectic and after Thanksgiving I don’t think that we have a day off.

Recently we had an event at NYU with Kritti, a summer intern. She was AMAZING and so was our event! We met a lot of cool people and sold some shoezies!!! James from Honest Tea showed up and it was splendid… our first event with Honest Tea!!! I got to work on some shoes that i had been debating on what to do with. I started them at NYU and finished them at our event yesterday at UAlbany. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!

My new shoes!!!

After that event was over i got to watch the first half of the browns vs. bills game and sadly had to leave at the half. But don’t worry my friends back at home texted me throughout the rest of the game to keep me updated and WE WON!!! I was SO ecstatic!!!

Tonight we went out for sushi and did a little team bonding. I had been craving sushi for weeks, I wish I took you a picture of it for you. It was super good. I got edamame and 2 rolls, a spicy tuna and pikachu!!! Oh and ice cream!!! Dinner was perfect! (kinda expensive, good thing I’ve been saving.

Tomorrow I’d like to see the city. But we’ll see.

Oh and first thing when we get back to the west coast I am getting some In-N-Out!!!

A few colleagues and I attended the annual Clinton Global Initiative conference in NYC earlier this month, and there are some really exciting things to share! At the closing Plenary Session, Former President Bill Clinton announced that TOMS Shoes will give 100,000 pairs of TOMS shoes to Haitians affected by Hurricane Ike as a key part of a larger giving commitment.

We are partnering with some really prestigious organizations and people on this initiative who will be providing 20,000 families food every month; supplying 36,000 farmers with seeds, fertilizer, and training; providing five million liters of clean drinking water; rebuilding thousands of homes; improving education for more than 600,000 students; rebuilding two destroyed bridges; and rebuilding twelve schools.

I can’t tell to you how keyed up I am to have TOMS be a part of this project. President Clinton mentioned that, “The losses were so great in Haiti, but the talent and yearning for a better future is also great,” and this is what TOMS is about: building a better tomorrow, together.

The individuals and organizations that TOMS will be partnering with include: Rene Preval, President of Haiti; Dr. Paul Farmer; Greg Allgood, Director of Children’s Safe Drinking Water/Proctor & Gamble; Ray Offenheiser, President of OXFAM America; Wyclef Jean, Founder of Yele Haiti Foundation; Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; Frank McKenna, Chairman, and Matt Damon, Spokesman for ONEXONE; Richard Roe, President of Open Learning Exchange; Ad Melkert, Under Secretary General and Associate, UNDP; Ronaldo Gonzalez Bunster, Founder of Dominican Republic Energy; Steve Green, The Green Family Foundation; Richenda Van Leeuwen, Founding Board Member of Good Energies; Ted Widmer, Brown University/Director of the Carter Library; Ruth Messenger, Director of the American Jewish World Service; Bill Lowry, Haitian Education Leadership Program; Lisa Hamilton, President of the UPS Foundation; and Dennis O’Brian, Haiti’s largest cellular phone provider. These individuals, along with their organizations,
