you inspire us

A few weeks ago, we introduced the TOMS Wall on the website, a place for TOMS fans, customers, friends, and newbies to post their TOMS photos and stories. One image we came across a couple weeks ago was by Alli Fox. Our creative department instantly fell in love with the way she chalked “LOVE” and placed TOMS in the shape of a heart. “We gotta use this!”

We couldn’t track down Alli’s for the original, so we re-created the image in the alley outside our warehouse door.

Her super cool image, that she may or may not have ever expected us to see, totally inspired us and has become a prominent piece on the TOMS website for Valentine’s Day!

To Alli- THANK YOU for being so awesomely creative.

We LOVE seeing the photos and reading the stories you upload the TOMS Wall… so get in there- upload, share, post, write, photograph, be creative. We take notice.

And then go pick out some TOMS to share the LOVE this Valentine’s Day

TOMS in the carribean

At TOMS HQ we are so thankful for all of our TOMS fans, especially those that support us in different locations around the world. Including… underwater?! You all are truly an inspiration… keep those pics coming!

On a recent Caribbean cruise I packed my favorite pair of TOMS and my TOMS flag hoping to spread the One for One movement. I love TOMS shoes and love telling others about the mission of TOMS and the way that you all are impacting the world. The first pic is me with my TOMS flag snorkeling in Turks and Caicos. The last one is a picture of me after hiking a few waterfalls in the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico. I’m always proud to wear my TOMS and keep my flag up in my office at work hoping others will ask about it. Thanks for all that you do!

Today’s post is less of a top 10 countdown and more of a funny observation over the past year. It seems as though a majority of TOMS fan photos come in one of two anonymous styles: in a circle, or from the ankles down. We never suggested photos be taken that way, and yet the trend has flourished. And we’re glad to see so many of you wearing TOMS… although we may never see any of your faces.

The TOMS logo is a recognizable symbol of the One for One movement, and what better way to show your TOMS pride (well, other than wearing your TOMS of course) than by showing your flag? You can now upload ALL of your favorite TOMS photos on the TOMS website, and as you have seen in previous posts, fans aren’t afraid to take their flag where ever they go. From the tops of mountains to the comforts of your own home, we love seeing where you share the movement!

I absolutely love my TOMS and love the idea that a child is getting a pair. I was born and brought up in Argentina and I’ve seen the kids with my own eyes walking in their bare feet. It’s a sad feeling knowing they have nothing to wear and they must walk the streets like that. – Astrid

Last night I saw Blake speak at UNC. Afterwards, I had him sign my TOMS flag and got a picture with him, me, my flag, and two of my friends.

TOMS climb high in haiti

My friend and I went to Milot, Haiti this summer and took some pictures with our TOMS. We climbed this huge mountain to the top of the Citadel; a haitian fortress that King Christophe built back in the 1800’s. We also worked in our TOMS most of the trip and it was sweet!

from texas, to oklahoma, to las vegas and more

We entitled this trip CARMTOALT. It stands for Cody and Ross’ Motorcycle Trip of a LifeTime. From Oklahoma City Cody and I headed west. We had a tentative plan with not all the details filled in. We planned to shoot from the hip, stay with friends, family and family of friends we had not met, and camp when needed. Loaded down with only the bare necessities, we embarked on a trip so insightful and surreal that we could not have possibly imagined the impact this journey would have on our lives.

I had been a member of the ‘TOMS club’ for 8 months, so much so that for the forty days of Lent I didn’t wear any other shoes, just TOMS, even the one day it snowed. So it naturally seemed right to wear them on the trip. Cody decide to take his pair and I had the tough decision which one of mine to take. I find that my gray TOMS are suitable in any situation, being so versatile and comfortable is the reason I brought them; they look classy and are easy to pack. After three days of riding I had a nice tan line on the top of my foot, which has not faded. Having the TOMS flag with us, we knew that there would be great photos opportunities on this cross country adventure. Also, showing the pictures would be a good opportunity to explain the ‘One for One’ mission of TOMS to anyone who didn’t know.

Most trips that people take are about the destination, what will happen when we get there. This was about the journey, what will happen each day. We discovered the western half of our country, riding across almost every landscape America has to offer, and more importantly discovering ourselves. This trip was something that will never be forgotten, and although our motorcycle journey has come to a close, the things we have learned and experiences shared will live on as we travel this road we call life.
