Hellooooo people of the interweb. Team Ndubs is in Colorado, AND LOVING IT! First, let’s talk about how we got here. After an awesometastic event with our wonderful campus rep Lura at Central Washington University we decided to go ahead and hit the road and head towards Colorado. At 11 o’clock. pm. Driving through the mountains in the night proved to be an exhilarating experience. If, that is, you are exhilarated by driving 30 mph in snow on a curvy mountain road while water is freezing when it hits your windshield. After escaping the snowstorm and driving several more hours through the night, Team Ndubs truly received a reward from on high. We were able to treat ourselves to a delectable meal fit for royalty.
Cinnamelts, hashbrowns, and southern style chicken biscuits under the watchful arches of Mr. Kroc
After consuming our exquisite morning repast, we were back on the road and headed to a stop at Arches National Park. We arrived in Moab, UT, got out of the van and discovered the nicest weather we’d experienced so far. 70 degrees and sunny. It was like being back in Santa Monica again. We decided to rest and hit up the arches in the morning. The next morning we woke to another lovely day. A different kind of lovely, really. A 50 degrees and rainy kind of lovely as a matter of fact. But we hadn’t come all this way to let some rain slow us down. We went and hiked around the arches anyway.
Ana and Carolyn temporarily escape the rain
I bumped into this rock and almost knocked it over. Luckily Ana was there to catch it and hold it up… with one hand.
Now we’re in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where we’ll be for the next few days (and we’ll be in the state for a couple weeks after that). We’re gonna get into some pretty intense rock climbing as seen in the picture at the top, but don’t worry, if anyone gets hurt we’ve got Dr. Quinn standing by ready to patch us up.
