TOMS has grown far beyond the borders of the United States, and are now sold in many incredible retail stores all over the world. We could list all of them right here (or you could check out our international store locater), but instead we’ve chosen to give you a weekly download of both our international and domestic retailers. Up first: Sitka, in British Columbia.

TOMS: How did you hear about TOMS?
SITKA: The owners of the shop, Rene Gauthier and Andrew Paine, saw the brand all over California.  When they returned to Victoria, they were so stoked on the company and the product.  We bugged Toms about placing an order until they opened distribution in Canada and we could get our hands on some shoes.

T: How long have you been carrying TOMS?
S: About a year. Since they were first available in Canada.

T: What shoe has been your best seller?
S efinitely the standard solid colour model.  They go with everything!

T o you get many customers who recognize the shoes?
S: People have started to recognize the brand over the past 6 months or so.  TOMS is getting a lot of positive media coverage and the awareness is really getting people excited about the Shoe Drop Tours.

T: What makes your store special, why should people come visit?
S: We’re a local truly west coast Canadian company.  The Sitka Shop is the flagship store for the Sitka brand, which is sold across Canada, in the US and growing internationally.  So, the Sitka Shop is a great place to come grab some locally designed gear or something from one of the other brands we carry.  We carry about 60% Sitka stuff and about 40% of our merchandise is pieces from other brands.  Our floor staff are true west coast Canadians too – Super mellow, friendly and always willing to help out.
