I’m having these flashbacks of these sweet campuses that I don’t have photos of! There’s this small problem I run into on occasion: I take out the memory card to upload photos to my computer and then I take photos without the memory card in and I can’t upload them because I don’t have the cord! It makes for a slightly sad day.
Despite the lack of photos (come on kids, you can read this without getting bored) I want to share with you some traditions I think are super sweet!
There’s this college in Bryn Mawr, PA called Bryn Mawr College (shocker…) and it’s soooo sweet! We went there a few weeks ago but I never really wrote about it! They have THE coolest architecture, only second to Yale. Anyways, they have this statue of Athena that the girls all give things to when they need help or have done something wrong. They have these steps called “senior steps” and if you walk on them when you’re not a senior, you won’t graduate from college (or so the myth goes). So in order to make sure they obtain a degree, they have to give gifts to Athena to appease her!
They also have this sweet Latern Ceremony where each class is given different colored lanterns. The different classes all sit in spots making sort of a square in the center of them all. The seniors sit on the senior steps, with the juniors sitting accross from them and the lower classmen sitting on the sides. They all wear these sweet robes with hoods and sing these traditional songs and stuff and sometimes they all go skinny dipping after the ceremonies!
We were so intrigued by the stories about the history of that place. I kind of want to attend school there just so that I can be a part of stuff like that. It’s got the feel of a secret society and it’s definitely something I would love to be involved in.
Back to the current, I’m at my [sort of] god-parents’ house! Basically, if my parents had passed away before I was eighteen, they would have become my legal guardians. I love them so much and I haven’t been here in a few years! I’ve spent wonderful time with them ever since I was born and it’s so great that I can get them involved in this tour! Spreading love to my loves :]
We’ve been at some pretty sweet places in the past week or so as well. Emily Winks and her family was so great! Breakfast at her house in the morning then off to throw the event at church!

We saw some pretty sweet shoes…these were definitely my favorites!

After the event, we went out to lunch so we could hang out for a little bit before Justin and I hit the road! Emily and I got Chick-Fil-A to eat, and Panera to drink. Justin got chinese food and Panera to eat! We ended up eating at Panera. It was pretty funny.

So fun!! Emily and I both have nose rings and snort when we laugh. WHAT A DAY!

After that was Lynchburg College for a very chill event. Most people were getting home from Thanksgiving break either that night or the night after so we didn’t have too much traffic but we did have some great conversations!
Virginia Tech was Monday! I LOVE THESE GIRLSSSS!!!!!!!

Mandy and Sheena teamed up, and with the help of their friend Steve (a campus rep for Vitamin Water, EA Sports, etc.) they threw an AMAZING event at XYZ Gallery in downtown Blacksburg. The venue had a great feel, and the day was so great from start to finish!
A rep for the snowboarding team came out to our event and did some pretty sweet shoes!

I think from this shot you can sort of get a feel for the venue. I love it. It was a bunch of little rooms like this with different places to decorate shoes, spots to grab some snacks, and a room with the documentary perpetually running. We had a great playlist too…holla at Sheena for making that happen!

In short, I can’t believe this is coming to a close so soon. I love this and I can’t wait for other people next semester to be able to experience it!
That’s all for now folks.
Vagalove,
Claire
