new orleans shoe drop: a volunteer experience

April 30th, 2009 1 Comment

Hi! I’m Ana Maria, and I work on the giving side of TOMS. The best part of my job is traveling to new destinations and hand placing shoes on children’s feet with other passionate volunteers.
Students in New Orleans, LA were fitted with their own pair of new TOMS shoes this past week. They put marker [...]

roadtrip to chicago!

April 30th, 2009 1 Comment

When you think Midwest roadtrip, you think of passing through Chicago. And we are all up in it! I am in love with this place!  We had two amazing events this weekend!

First one was at OhNo!Doom Art Gallery, where there were over ten artists that donated their time to paint shoes for the [...]

international retailer download: escape sports

April 29th, 2009 No Comments

Escape Sports is a fresh TOMS retailer who swears by authenticity: they are actually in to all the sports for the gear that they sell. And since this photo is authentic, too (thats how they greet their customers every morning, right?), we’re amped to have them on board.

TOMS for prom

April 29th, 2009 1 Comment

I wore TOMS to my senior prom, and while some may have given me strange looks, I didn’t have to worry about:
aerating the lawns where we took pictures
taking my shoes off because they were uncomfortable heels
changing shoes after prom
taking my shoes off for any reason
falling over in 3 inch heels getting into our transportation to [...]

TOMS in NOLA

TOMS hosted our first Shoe Drop in New Orleans yesterday. As with our US Shoe Drops we held this past fall, we brought markers for the kids to draw on their shoes and get their creativity flowing. We were set up right next to the playground, which was really cool to see all the kids [...]

getting acquainted

April 28th, 2009 No Comments

I’m writing to you from the Vagavan, as Team SW once again leaves Los Angeles, headed for Phoenix. We just can’t seem to get enough of California and Arizona. It was exceptionally hard to leave LA this time, however. We’ve spent the past week getting acquainted with our San Juan Hills High School campus rep, [...]

5 simple ways to maintain sanity on a 3-month road trip

April 27th, 2009 1 Comment

Several weeks ago, I was positive beyond a shadow of a doubt that I had left my sanity somewhere along a 60-mile stretch of U-turns in the Appalachian Mountains. That was then, and this is now. My brief stint with delusion and lunacy has come and gone–and I’ll tell you how.
1. A friend in need [...]

good times on the road

April 27th, 2009 No Comments

Life in the Northeast is pretty awesome. Everyone is super excited about TOMS and the One for One movement. Our events have been going so well we are having difficulty keeping up with the demand! It’s a little disappointing that we can’t outfit everyone at the events with TOMS but it does give us a [...]
